Antonio Maestre

Antonio Maestre (1979) studied Documentation at the Complutense University of Madrid and a master's degree in journalism at the Rey Juan Carlos University. He worked as a gardener, stocker, butcher and waiter, and in logistics, marketing and press until he retrained as a journalist, a profession he exercises in various media and formats. Since 2013 he has been writing investigative reports in La Marea, a medium of which he has been deputy director since September 2020 and in which he previously coordinated the "Class Notes" section. He is a columnist in eldiario.es and in La Sexta, where he has his own blog called “Everything is in Bourdieu”, as well as in the technology and politics section “Retina”, of El País. He has also collaborated with Le Monde Diplomatique and Jacobin. He is also a current affairs and political analyst on La Sexta's news programs as well as on Radio Euskadi. He is the author of Infames. The retreat of Spain (2020) and the best seller Franquismo S.A. (Akal, 2019).
