Arlindo Machado holds a Ph.D. in Communications and Semiotics from the Catholic University of Sao Paulo. He is currently a professor in the Department of Film, Radio and Television of the University of Sao Paulo, and the Postgraduate Program in Communication and Semiotics at the Catholic University of Sao Paulo. He has published several books about the media, as well as an important number of articles in magazines and specialized publications. In addition, the author has been curator of various exhibitions related to art, technology and media, as well as being a member of the jury of festivals such as Videobrasil (São Paulo), BHZVideo (Belo Horizonte), Bienarte (Cordoba), Electronic Arts ( Buenos Aires), Cenart (Mexico) and Icaro (Guatemala). He has also directed six short films, three multimedia applications and has collaborated in several television programs.
