Bert Keizer is a physician and philosopher. His bestselling book about life in a nursing home, Dancing With Mr. D. (1994), has been translated into several languages. After writing a novel, Passing Festivities (1998), and an introduction to the philosophy of Ludwig Wittgenstein, he published a translation of letters by Emily Dickinson in 2008. Keizer is a columnist for Trouw and Medisch Contact, and a regular contributor to The Threepenny Review in Berkeley.
