He has been Professor of Political Science at the London School of Economics and currently holds the Arnold A. Salzman Chair of Philosophy and Political Science at Columbia University. He is the author, among other titles, of Politics Argument, Sociologists, Economists and Democracy. His most recent work is Culture and Equality.
