 Calímaco

Callimachus (Καλλίμαχος ancient Greek) (310 BC -.. 240 BC) was a poet and scholar, born in Cyrene and a descendant of a noble family. He opened a school in the suburbs of Alexandria, and some of the most distinguished grammarians and poets were his students, highlighting Apollonius of Rhodes.
Ptolemy II received the commission to order the Library of Alexandria, a position he held until his death. Of this scale is its task is considered the father of library (or, at least, catalogers). His Pinakes (tables), 120 volumes containing the complete catalog of the Library ordered chronologically, were of enormous value for subsequent bibliographic and literary studies of the classical period.
