Permanent full-time “C” professor at the Faculty of Economics of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He carried out doctoral studies in applied economics at the Autonomous University of Madrid, in which he obtained the “Cum Laude” distinction. At the Harvard Kennedy School of Government he completed an executive program in 2004, and in 2009 he completed a research stay. He is a national researcher (SNI) level III. He has been a consultant at ECLAC. He has supervised more than 20 theses at the bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels; and has participated as a speaker and lecturer in more than 70 national and international academic events. He has more than 60 publications, among others, El Trimestre Economía; Spanish Statistics; International Journal of Pluralism and Economics Education; Real-World Economics Review; and The Brazilian Journal of Political Economy. In 2008 Trillas published his textbook Introduction to Applied Econometrics, and in 2009 Miguel Ángel Porrúa his research report New Measurements of Inflation and Economic Growth in Mexico. Due to his scientific production between 2000 and 2010, he was placed in Sixth Place out of a total of 357 professors-researchers from 28 economic educational institutions in the country (Economía Mexicana, 2013, vol. XXIII, no. 1, p. 33 ).
Lines of investigation
His favorite areas are multivariate analysis of time series and microdata, and statistical methodologies for measuring economic variables.
