He was born in France. He studied in his hometown where he graduated as a skilled worker. He lived for several years in Caracas and worked first as an innkeeper and then held the position of maître d'hotel of a French restaurant in the city. He is married to Venezuelan illustrator Aracelis Ocante and currently lives in France with his family. He has two children. His eldest daughter, Clarisse, is the protagonist of his first children's book, Un diente se mueve, published by Ediciones Ekaré.
