Born in 1940 in the French city of Angers. In addition to teaching at the university level as an assistant professor of French Language and Literature, has developed in parallel, an extensive and brilliant career in the journalistic field and the literary. He has been a contributor to the newspaper Le Monde and Le Messager Européen magazines and Temps Modernes. Among his many works include Gubbio doors -prize Renaudot 1980, The illusory life, Le Don des morts, A quoi sert la littérature ?, Lettres mortes, Conversations conjugales -galardonada in 1987 with the Grand Prix of Francesa- Academy Journey to the occupied Palestine (Galaxia Gutenberg, 2003) and Simone de Beauvoir, against everything and everyone (Galaxia Gutenberg, 2010). He has also translated into French works of Pier Paolo Pasolini, Roberto Calasso and Italo Calvino
