Dario Fo (Sangiano, Lombardy, Italy, 1926 - Milan, Italy, 2016), author, director, actor and 1997 Nobel Prize for Literature, wrote his first play in 1944, and in 1948 he first appeared on the scene. In collaboration with his wife, Franca Rame (who died in 2013), he has written and performed more than fifty plays, acid political satires in which he ruthlessly attacks the political power, capitalism, the mafia and the Vatican, and who have done so become one of the most prestigious international theater men.
