David Casassas is a Doctor in Sociology from the University of Barcelona. He develops his research activity in the fields of social theory and moral and political philosophy. He has been a visiting researcher at the Hoover Chair in Economic and Social Ethics at the Catholic University of Leuven and at the Center for the Study of Social Justice at the University of Oxford. Currently, he teaches social theory at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and is a member of the Group of Analytical Sociology and Institutional Design (GSADI) of the same university. He is Secretary of the Basic Income Earth Network (BIEN) and Second Vice President of the Basic Income Network (RRB). Member of the Editorial Board of the journal SinPermiso and of the Editorial Board of Basic Income Studies, he has published numerous articles and book chapters on republicanism and basic income.
