Diamela Eltit

Diamela Eltit was born in Santiago de Chile in 1949. Under, and against, the dictatorship of General Pinochet was part of the prestigious artistic collective CADA. In 1983 he published his first novel, Lumpérica, which inaugurated a literary world as personal as it was lucid, and which was followed by, among others, Por la patria (1986), El Cuarto mundo (1988), Vaca sagrada (1991), Los vigilantes ( 1994), The Death Workers (1998), Labor (2002) or Meat Tax (2010), in addition to different essays. She has been a visiting professor at Columbia, Berkeley, Stanford, John Hopkins, New York and Cambridge universities. Periferica has published his novels Never the fire never (2012) and Special Forces (2015).
