Edmund Fawcett, a British writer and political journalist, has worked for The Economist for more than three decades, as editor and chief correspondent in Washington, Paris and Berlin. In addition, he regularly publishes in other outlets such as The New York Times, The Guardian, New Statesman, and The Times Literary Supplement.
