Ernesto Garzón Valdés

Doctor of Laws by the National University of Córdoba (Argentina), and honorary doctorates from the universities of Valencia, Alicante, Helsinki, Valparaiso (Chile), Santa Fe (Argentina), Buenos Aires and Palermo (Argentina). Professor emeritus at the University of Mainz (Germany). Goethe Goethe Institute (Munich) Medal. Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of Finland, the National Academy of Social Sciences Law and Buenos Aires and the National Law Academy of Córdoba (Argentina). Since 1990, he is a visiting professor at the University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. President of the European Judicial Colloquium (Madrid) Club Foundation and Tampere (Finland) dedicated to the study of problems related to the development of democracy. During Argentina's military dictatorship (1976-1982) was exiled in Germany. He is the author of ten books on law, politics and ethics, the last of them Calamities (2004), and over one hundred articles published on these issues in German, Argentine, Spanish, Italian, Finnish and Mexican journals. In the same editorial is co-editor of Law and Justice, volume 11 of Encyclopedia of Philosophy Iberoamericana.
