Erwin Moser was born in Vienna and grew up in Burgenland. He was a typographer by training, and from 1980 he wrote and illustrated his own stories. For more than thirty years, he published numerous children's picture books; Some of them won prestigious awards. His stories, narrated and drawn with imagination, have a special warmth and belong to the canon of children's and young people's literature in the German language. Erwin Moser died in 2017. Since 2014 there is the Erwin Moser Museum.
