Esperanza Collado

Esperanza Collado is an artist-researcher and her practice includes curating and independent programming, criticism, and teaching. She is the author of Paracinema: the Dematerialization of Cinema in Artistic Practices (VII Prize Writings on Art of the Art and Law Foundation, published by Trama Editorial, Madrid 2012), where she explores the idea of ​​cinema disconnected from its physical apparatus. His recent artistic work investigates the presence of the body in film situations through the articulation of movements choreographed around the projection space. His films, in 16mm format, are designed for performative contexts. He has presented his work extensively, and since 2011 combines it with Operation Rewrite, his artistic collaboration with Maximilian Le Cain. Esperanza Collado is a co-founder of the LEVE Artistic Association, which has produced two field recordings and Experimental Film Club, a film exhibition space where she has been regularly scheduled since 2008. She has curated exhibitions at Thisisnotashop Gallery (Ireland), Close -Up (London), MUSAC (Lion), Darklight Symposium (Ireland), etc. In 2008 he founded and directed the international encounter of experimental art Márgenes in diverse spaces of Dublin, with invited artists of Spain. Esperanza holds a degree in Fine Arts and a PhD from the University of Castilla-La Mancha, where she currently teaches classes and workshops.
