Felipe Alfau (Barcelona, 1902-New York, 1999), emigrated to the United States in 1916, retained his national origin, but always wrote, except for some poems in English. In addition to Spanish tales of yore, he was the author of two Locos novels, a comedy of gestures (1928) and stickers (1948), whose publication in 1990 and subsequent selection as a finalist of the Book of United States National Award will depararon fame he craved from his youth.
