Frances Hodgson Burnett

FRANCES HODGSON BURNETT (Manchester, 1849-New York, 1924), an American writer of English origin, published numerous short stories and stories in magazines such as Scribner’s Monthly or Harper’s Bazaar. Her first youth book, The Little Lord, appeared in 1886 and sold over a million copies at her time. However, her best known work is The Secret Garden (1911).
