Francisco Barado and Font (Badajoz, 10 of March of 1853 - Tarragona, 1 of January of 1922) was a military man and Spanish writer. He was born in Badajoz in 1853, son of Esteban Barado, head of infantry and Mercedes Font, native of Vich, but of very small was lead to Catalonia. There he made his first studies and studied philosophy and letters in Barcelona, ​​where he graduated in 1873. Francisco was an infantry captain and later a commander. Call to the service of the arms, consequence of the extraordinary mandate that gave the minister of the Republic, entered to serve in class of soldier in the first Mountain Artillery Regiment, happening next like infantry officer in 1875, from whose date until the conclusion of the Third Carlist War, took part in the campaign operations. Francisco also devoted himself to studies in philosophy and archeology, and published articles in scientific and literary publications such as La Renaixensa in Barcelona; but the duties of his military career soon elevated him to the study of works and professional subjects and was part of the writing of the Scientific-Military Review, Catalan Illustration and others, and in the modern Spain magazine of Luis Vidart, June of 1889, published an article entitled "Historical-Military Writings of Captain D. Francisco Barado". He died in 1922.
