Francisco Cervantes (born Querétaro, 1938 - f. 2005) was a Mexican journalist and writer. In 1977 he lived in Portugal. He studied law at the University of Querétaro. He worked as a journalist (among other things, he published the magazine Ágora) and in advertising. He received a scholarship from the Guggenheim Foundation. He made translations of Fernando Pessoa and other Portuguese-language poets. In 1982 he won the Xavier Villaurrutia Award and in 1986 he received the Rio Branco Order in Brazil and the Heriberto Frías de Queretaro Prize.
