Francisco Esteve Barba

Historian and Spanish librarian born in Madrid on May 11, 1908. He studied Philosophy and Literature at the then Central University. After finishing his career, he gained a position in the Faculty of Archives, Libraries and Museums in 1931. After several destinations as a librarian in La Coruña, Toledo and Madrid, he returned to the classrooms of the Central University, where he stood out as a great specialist in History of America. His books are the Catalog of the Bourbon-Lorenzana manuscript collection (1942), which he wrote when he was in charge of the Toledo Public Library, or Adolfo Carrillo de Acuña, author of the Unity of Spain (1943), Indian Historiography ) and Virreinal Culture (1965).
