Fubo Hayashi

Fubo Hayashi

He was one of the pseudonyms used by Kaitaro Hasegawa (1900-1935) one of the most popular writers of the first third of the 20th century. Born on Sado Island to a family of intellectuals, Hasegawa turned out to be a restless young man and eager for adventure. In 1920 he dropped out of college to travel to the United States and roam the country like a homeless man. In 1924 he returned to Japan after wandering around the world and began publishing stories in various magazines. His beginnings as a writer were tough, but his career was suddenly launched to stardom thanks to Meriken Jappu, humorous stories narrating his adventures in the United States, and the series of novels starring Tange Sazen.
