George Steiner

George Steiner

(Paris, 1929).

It is one of the most renowned scholars of European culture. He has taught at the universities of Stanford, New York, Princeton and Harvard, and in Geneva where he was Professor of Comparative Literature, and Cambridge, where he was a member of the Church College.

For years, he was a literary critic for The New Yorker, The New York Times and The Economist. Among the numerous awards that he has been honored highlights the Prince of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities Award 2001.
