Gordon W. Allport has distinguished professor of psychology in the department of social relations from Harvard University, where he just started his career and earned the degrees of licentiate and doctorate in philosophy and letters. Also Professor at the Universities of Berlin, Hamburg and Cambridge, has served as president of the American Psychological Association and has been an honorary member of several societies of psychology in Germany, France, Britain and Austria. From 1937 to 1949, led the "Journal of Abnormal and Social Psychology." He has published several books and essays.
