Guido Ceronetti

Guido Ceronetti (Turin, 1927 - Cetona, 2018) was a philosopher, poet, translator, storyteller and shrewd chronicler of cultural and social events. His translations of biblical texts - The Book of Job and The Book of Psalms, among others - and of classical authors such as Catullus and Martial have made him one of the most exceptional and versatile hermeneuts of our time. His vast work includes the novel Aquilegia (1973) and the stories Delirios desarmados (1993), Defense of the moon (1971), as well as numerous books of poetry. The silence of the body (1979, Cliff, 2006) is one of his masterpieces. His essays El cantar de los cantares (Acantilado, 2001), The Philosopher's Lantern (Acantilado, 2010), The melancholic monocle (Acantilado, 2013) and The thoughts of tea (Acantilado, 2018) have also been published in this editorial.
