Guy Davenport (1927-2005). In 1961 he received his doctorate in philosophy from Harvard University with a thesis on Ezra Pound. From 1951-1991, Davenport was an English professor at prestigious American universities. Recognized story writer Guy Davenport is also a poet, essayist, literary critic, translator, illustrator and remarkable.
He has published 12 books of fiction and Stories (1997) and the poems Flowers and Leaves (1966) and Thasos ando Ohio (1985) are counted. He is the author of The Geography essays and Imagination (1981) and Every Force Evolves a Form (1987). The book A Balance of Quinces (1996) by Erik Anderson Reece brings significant part of his work as a painter and illustrator.
