Herodian (Greek Ἡρωδιανός [Herodian] HERODIANVS in Latin) (ca. 178-252), was a Roman official of lesser rank who wrote a Roman History in eight books covering the years 180 to 238 Reviled for decades, has modern undergone a revaluation, considering him completely reliable and aupándole reaching category Dio. Perhaps native of Bithynia or Pergamum, it appears that lived for a considerable period in Rome and occupied a position within the imperial bureaucracy. Various theories suggest that wrote his story towards the end of the reign of Philip the Arab, prowling the date of death for this period.
