Horacio Quiroga

Silvestre Forteza Horacio Quiroga was born in Salto, Uruguay, on December 31, 1878. Creator of stories like "The hen slaughtered" and "feather pillow," Quiroga also dabbled in writing critical essays for magazines such as Caras y Caretas, home, and literary life, among others. He lived in Salto, in Misiones and Buenos Aires, where to learn that he was suffering from prostate cancer committed suicide, the February 19, 1937, taking cyanide.
