Born in Cuba, Humberto Huergo Cardoso is Professor of Philosophy and Letters at Carleton College, in the United States. He is the author of numerous studies on, among others, Góngora and José Moreno Villa: Temas de Arte (Pre-Texts, 2001), Medio mundo y otro medio. Memories (Pre-Texts, 2010), Function against form and other writings on Madrid architecture, 1927-1935 (Iseebooks, 2010) and Jacinta la Pelirroja (Anthropos, 2021). His last book with the Casimiro publishing house is El desahucio a la vista. Writings on Photography, 1908-1954 (2020), an annotated anthology of writings on photography
