Ian Cross

Ian Cross (Masterton, 1925 - Paraparaumu, 2019) was a New Zealand writer and journalist. His first novel, Jimmy Sullivan (The God boy), published in 1957, has been unanimously acclaimed by critics and is considered one of the great contributions to New Zealand literature of the 20th century. Cross also worked on radio, television, and as a literary critic. His works include: The Backward Sex (1959), After Anzac Day (1961), his memoir The Unlikely Bureaucrat (1988) and The Family Man (1993).
