Ignacio Szmulewicz

Graduated in theory and history of art at the University of Chile. He has curated the Visual Arts exhibitions in Valdivia: archive 1977-1986 in the Museum of Contemporary Art of Valdivia in 2010, The dark mirror in the Directorate of Extension of the Austral University of Chile in October 2011, the Matadero exhibition cycle. 10 young artists from the Chilean scene at the Metals Heavy in the year 2012 and Spoilers at the AFA Gallery in 2013. He has written in the magazines La Panera, Arte al Día, Trepidante, Babuino, Vanishing Point and Proa Horse. He recently published his first book titled Out of the White Cube: Readings on Contemporary Public Art with the Heavy Metal Publishing House. He has taught at the Universities of Chile, ARCIS and Portales, in the areas of modern art, contemporary art, public art and Chilean art. He is currently studying architecture at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
