Iker Puente has a doctorate in Psychology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), with the thesis Complexity and transpersonal psychology: chaos, self-organization and peak experiences in psychotherapy. He is an expert in transpersonal psychology, expanded states of consciousness and research with psychedelics, researcher and former professor in the Department of Evolutionary and Educational Psychology at the UAB. He has spent time at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) and has visited different universities and research centers, including the University of California at Berkeley, New York University, and Harvard Medical School. A transpersonal and humanistic orientation psychotherapist, he has been trained in transpersonal psychotherapy and holotropic breathing, Gestalt therapy and integrative body therapy. He has collaborated with the psychological accompaniment service of the Boom Festival since 2008 as well as in other festivals. He currently works as a psychotherapist and trainer in Barcelona, facilitating transpersonal breathing workshops, organizing talks and seminars on transpersonal psychology and psychotherapy with psychedelics, and has developed and coordinates the specialization course “The transpersonal approach and its integration in psychotherapy”.
