William Worden, PhD, is a member of the American Psychological Association. It also has academic appointments at Harvard Medical School and the Graduate School of Psychology in Rosemead California. He is the co-principal investigator of the Harvard Child Bereavement Study.
Worden is one of the world authorities in the treatment of grieving. He has been awarded five major NIH grants.
His professional interests led him to become a founding member of the Association of Death Education and Counseling (ADEC) and deel International Work Group on Death and Bereavement (IWG).
His book Treatment of mourning has been translated into 12 languages ​​and has been reprinted many times.
