James van der Kam is a professor in the Department of Theology, University of Notre Dame. His research has focused on the history and literature of early Judaism and the Hebrew Scriptures. He is a member of the editorial committee which publishes the Dead Sea Scrolls and an editor of the Encyclopedia of the Dead Sea Scrolls (2000). In addition to The Dead Sea Scrolls Today (1994), in his most recent book Introduction to Early Judaism (2001), The Book of Jubilees (2001) and Joshua to Caiaphas (2004) are counted.
