João Guimarães Rosa (Minas Gerais, 1908 - Rio de Janeiro, 1967) is the greatest writer of Brazilian literature of the twentieth century. He was also physician and diplomat. Author, among other books, of "First Stories" and the consecration "Grand Sertão: Paths", one of the great novels of modern literature.
