John Zerzan

Philosopher considered a cult author of anarchism today. His thought has been identified within a primitivist trend, characterized by considering that a free society is only possible if the prehistoric ways of life are recovered. Thus, his criticism is directed at civilization in its entirety and all that it provokes: domestication, division of labor, symbolic thought, religion ... But he is not recognized as a "library theorist" but as an activist and, in fact, is known for to be one of the main ideologues of the “battle of Seattle”, which was a milestone of the anti-globalization movement - uniting trade union, environmental, student, anarchist, feminist, pacifist, human rights, religious movements - against the summit of the World Organization of the Commerce in 1999. His publications include Elements of Refusal, Futuro Primitivo, Running on Emptiness, Against Civilization: Readings and Reflections.
