Jorge Luis Arzola

Jorge Luis Arzola (Jatibonico, Cuba, 1966), short story writer and novelist, published his first stories in Cuban magazines and newspapers such as El Caimán Barbudo. In 2000 he won the Alejo Carpentier Ibero-American Narrative Award for La bandada infinita. In addition to this he has published two other books of stories: The Headless Bird and Prisoner in the Circle of the Horizon. His stories have appeared in various anthologies such as New Cuban Narrators (Siruela, Madrid 2000). He currently resides in Germany.
