José Bové (born June 11, 1953) is a French politician and trade unionist in the agricultural sector, an important figure in the movement of altermundismo, spokesman since 1993 of the international organization Vía Campesina. He was candidate to the presidency of the French Republic in the elections of 2007, obtaining a 1.32% of the votes in the first return. In the elections to the European Parliament of 2014 is candidate, with Ska Keller, to the presidency of the European Commission by the European Green Party.
