José Luis de la Granja Sainz (Almadén, September 27, 1954) is a Spanish historian, who has studied the Second Spanish Republic, the Spanish Civil War and Basque nationalism, the latter subject of which he is considered an authority. He is Professor of Contemporary History at the University of the Basque Country, a university to which he would have joined in 19787 or 1981.
