José Luis León Manríquez

Jose Luis Leon Manriquez. He is a Full-Time Professor-Researcher "C" attached to the Department of Politics and Culture. He has a Ph.D. in Political Science from Columbia University, New York; Master in Latin American Studies from UNAM; and Bachelor of International Relations from FCPyS-UNAM. He has worked as a professor and researcher at different academic institutions in Mexico and abroad, such as the University of California in San Diego and Riverside, the University of Buenos Aires, the Technological University of Sydney , FLACSO-Costa Rica, the UNAM, the College of Mexico, the University of Guadalajara, the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico and the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Studies. He was a member of the Mexican Foreign Service for 14 years. He served as Editor of the Mexican Journal of Foreign Policy, Director of Academic Extension and Academic Director of the Matías Romero Institute of Diplomatic Studies (IMRED) of the SRE. He has been an advisor to the Secretaries of Foreign Affairs and Health, as well as the Presidential Advisor for National Security in Mexico. He has also carried out consulting work for different public entities and international organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Asia Pacific Cooperation Mechanism (APEC). As a specialist in Asian and international issues, he has participated in 260 conferences, seminars, colloquia and congresses in North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Mexico, and has published more than 80 articles in collective books and national and international specialized magazines. He is the author or coordinator of six books. He is a Level II National Researcher of the National System of Researchers.
