Juan Cruz Ruiz was born in Tenerife, Spain, in 1948. As a teenager he did interviews, chronicles, journalism. He published novels, the first titled Chronicle of Nothing Tore Pieces. He wrote chronicles of his passage through journalism (A memoir of El País, Journalism? It is worth living for this office) and his experience as editor (Egos revueltos, Species in extinction, Jaime Salinas. Pleasure to read). He is currently attached to the management of El País (Spain) and is responsible for the cultural information of the newspaper. This book with interviews with chroniclers is his tribute to a way of telling that he considers extraordinary.
