Juan Hidalgo (de) Polanco (Madrid, September 28, 1614-Madrid, March 31, 1685), was a Spanish composer and harpist of the Baroque period, one of the most prolific theatrical authors of the second half of the century XVII and considered as the father of the Spanish opera and the Zarzuela.
