Julia Deck was born in Paris in 1974. She contributes to various publications, including Livres Hebdo. She previously worked as an editorial secretary in different newspapers and as a reader for foreign publications in Paris and New York. She has a degree in Arts from the Sorbonne and a diploma in journalism. Viviane Élisabeth Fauville is her first novel and was translated into English, German, Italian, Dutch, Swedish and Spanish for the first time by Eterna Cadencia. In 2013 she won the Artois University First Novel Award.
