Laila Hotait [www.lailahotait.com | IG: @hotaitlaila] is a Hispanic-Lebanese filmmaker and artist, with a doctorate in Audiovisual Communication from the Carlos III University of Madrid and a Fulbright scholar. Her thesis won the Academic Excellence Award and her thesis the National Prize of the Spanish Society of Arab Studies.

Hotait's audiovisual career started as a correspondent for Al-Jazeera Children TV. Subsequently, as a filmmaker, she has received important international awards, among others, from the Sundance Documentary Institute and the Doha Film Institute, and her films have competed in numerous international festivals.
