Born in Barcelona in 1954, Lluís Vergés is the father of three children, a journalist and a writer. For ten years he dealt with the literary criticism of the Menorca newspaper, a publication in which he has developed his entire professional career. His fondness for literature has led him to put together a library of some three thousand volumes and to interview two Nobel Prize winners for Literature; Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Mario Vargas Llosa; Luis Goytisolo, Cervantes Prize winner; and various personalities from the world of science such as Alicia Sintes, Juan Luis Arsuaga and Joaquín Fuster. He continues to review books on his blog Lector de guardia. In 2017 he published Tenis en la luna (Melusina), a succulent and fun celebration of the sport of the racket. Por los bosques is his second work.
