Lucía Montiel Romero

Master in Human Rights from the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City (UIA CM), graduated in International Relations from the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences (FCPyS) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He has a specialization in Human Rights from the University of Oxford in England, the University of Växjö in Sweden and the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights in Costa Rica. She has been Professor of Human Rights in the Current Society in the UIA CM and Statistical Analysis applied to International Relations in the FCPyS of UNAM. He has given classes in diplomas and courses directed to the Ministry of the Interior, Public Security Secretariat, International Committee of the Red Cross, among others. She is currently a teacher of the Master's Degree in Human Rights Education at CREFAL. He has published different articles in magazines and books, mainly in subjects of right to health and social rights. In 2009 she was the winner of the Second Place in the 12th. Human Rights Essay Contest organized by the LVII Mexican Legislature and the Human Rights Commission of the State of Mexico and in 2002 obtained an honorable mention in the Fifth National Contest of Essay on Human Rights organized by the CNDH and the Mexican Institute of Youth. Coordinates and designs contents of courses and diplomas in human rights. It has enhanced advisory and consulting work for the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights on the right to education. She was an adviser in the training area for the Gender Equity Program in the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation. She was part of the Human Rights Program of the Universidad Iberoamericana CM, where she coordinated diplomas in Human Rights Education, Access to Justice, Citizen Participation, Trafficking in Persons, among others. She currently works as a full-time academic in the University's Social Service Program of the Services Department for Integral Training at the Universidad Iberoamericana Ciudad de México.
