Luis Buñuel

Luis Buñuel

Luis Buñuel Portolés (Calanda, Teruel, Spain, February 22, 1900 - Mexico City, Mexico, July 29, 1983) was a Spanish film director nationalized mexicano.1

Despite the cinematic milestones achieved in his native country with Viridiana (1961) and Tristana (1970), the vast majority of his work was made or co-produced in Mexico and France, because of their political convictions and the difficulties imposed by Franco's censors to film in Spain.

It is considered one of the most important and original directors in film history.
