Manuel Fornés Gurrea (1777-1856) was an architect resident in Valencia. Already since 1800 he is named academic by the Academy of San Carlos, carrying out several positions mainly like professor. As architect we know the important reform he made in the Church of the Most Holy Christ of the Savior in Valencia between 1826 and 1829. As a writer he published two works in 1841 and 1846 titled Observations on the practice of art of building and Album of original practical projects of Architecture . The first one had, perhaps, greater repercussion that allowed its reedición in 1857 and 1872. Both have an educative character and are inspired by previous sources mainly in Fray Lorenzo de San Nicolás and Juan de Torija. The most outstanding analysis of his figure was made in 1982 by art historian Antonio Bonet Correa in the facsimile edition of his treatise.
