Marcelo Uribe

Marcelo Uribe (Mexico City, 1953) is an editor, translator, and poet. He studied letters at UNAM and at the University of Maryland. He is the author of The Thin Walls of Dream (Carlos Pellicer Poetry Prize; 1987) and has published several poetry anthologies and numerous translations. He prepared the facsimile edition of the Cuban literary magazine Origenes, which José Lezama Lima and José Rodríguez Feo published from 1944 to 1956 (Ediciones El Equilibrista, 1989). He has carried out extensive union work in favor of the book, and has participated in Mexico and abroad in forums on poetry, cultural diversity, publishing and the phenomenon of reading. Since 1991 he has been the deputy director of Ediciones Era.
