Mario Livio (Romania, 1945) is an astrophysicist and member of the Space Telescope Science Institute, the agency in charge of operating the Hubble telescope. He is the author of The Golden Ratio, a book that, in addition to being a success worldwide, gave him the prize Pitagoras and the Peano. He has also written the books Is God a Mathematician? and The equation never resolved, all published in Ariel.
