Mario Sznjader has a doctorate in Political Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His book “Minimum History of Israel” reconstructs one of the most debated national histories, that of a State that appeals to the most remote of times, that of the Old Testament, as one of its sources of legitimacy. To account for this, the author goes back to the past of the Jewish people in the biblical lands and also in its diaspora, to present the foundations of what would become a political project -Zionism- that encouraged the founding of the State of Israel in 1948. It is a story unfolded in a regional context marked by turmoil and violence. For this reason, the reader will approach the coordinates of the Israeli-Palestinian and Arab-Israeli conflicts, as well as the fate of the different peace processes.
